Tucked away on a half acre of private property in the Wasatch Mountains near two world class ski resorts, you'll find our Swiss Cottage ski chalet. First built in 1968 amidst old growth pines, Swiss Cottage was recently remodeled for comfort and safety. It's an intimate retreat that harkens back to days of old... perfect for families and small groups. Authentic Swiss design modeled after ski chalets in Zermatt by professional designer / decorator.

House Rules
Welcome to Swiss Cottage! We hope you enjoy your stay!
HOUSE RULES
1. Parking - There are two parking spots in front of the cottage. Please park in the driveway and not on the neighborhood roads outside the cottage. The roads can be narrow making it difficult for neighbors to get by. If you need additional parking, you may be able park on the main canyon road (summer only). Please know that we cannot be responsible for any lost items or damage regardless of where you park your car.
2. NO FIRES - Due to high fire danger, the fire department has BANNED ALL outdoor fires / open flames of any kind. Guests who light a fire may be cited by police and/or the fire department and are in violation of house rules. Guests are also liable for the spread of any wildfire.
3. Neighbors and Quiet Hours (No Parties)- The neighborhood is very small and very quiet. Please be respectful of the neighbors in terms of noise. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 7 am. Our house rules specifically state that there are No Parties allowed. Neighbors are very likely to call the police and report a party and/or excessive noise. We want your stay to be a positive experience for everyone involved so please don’t risk it. In general, most of my neighbors like to keep to themselves so if you have questions, please ask me.
4. Dogs and Pets - Please remember that there are no pets allowed in the cottage at any time. Dogs are specifically prohibited in Big Cottonwood Canyon as it is a watershed and the police frequently issue fines (even if the dog is kept in a car).
5. Trash - there are bears (and other animals) in the canyon and so we ask that you not leave any trash or trash bags outside at any time. There are two spots to dump trash and recycling as follows:
https://goo.gl/maps/x3WVwQGXZ51jQCBm6 (best if you are going UP canyon)
https://goo.gl/maps/q6rEXRf7bfaP3dXy8 (best if you are going DOWN canyon)
We pay for access to these dumpsters on a monthly basis so they are yours to use.
6. Water- our water comes from natural springs in the area. They flow at a lower rate in the winter time. Showers will be hot but please don't run longer than needed and help us to conserve winter water. If you have any problems with water during your stay, please let us know ASAP as we want you to be comfortable.
7. Ski storage - We kindly ask that you do NOT bring SKIs or POLES into the cabin. We suggest that you store those either on your vehicle or if you would like in the shed adjacent to the driveway (it is unlocked). We DO provide dryers for boots and gloves inside the cabin as well as hooks for coats and pants. We want your gear to be nice and dry every morning! Note that the cabin does have a combination washer and dryer for your use, however, it is not well-suited to drying wet ski gear.
8. Safety: You acknowledge that you are in an alpine environment where snow, ice and other natural hazards may be present on any surface at any time (including but not limited to falling snow and ice). As your hosts, we have made reasonable efforts to make the surroundings as safe as possible for all guests, however, we are not responsible for any injury or accident associated with your stay. Guests acknowledge that snow removal may occur at any time during their stay, day or night, in an effort to ensure safety and accessibility. Host will make reasonable efforts to remove new or heavy snow, however, natural events may prevent us from doing so (we provide a shovel by the door for guest use). Guests are not to attempt to use or play on any snow removal equipment other than the shovel provided. Guests agree to exercise caution and good judgement to avoid accident and injury and follow all posted signs and warnings in and around the cottage. Guests accept all risks and liability for any injury, accident or theft and agree to hold the host harmless from all damages, litigation or other responsibility. Do not attempt to climb on the roof. Doing so can result in serious injury or death. Doing so will result in loss of your security deposit and additional fees.
9. Communication and Feedback - we want your experience to be amazing and we want to earn a 5 star review from you. If there is anything we can do to make your stay better, please contact us via the AirBnB app ASAP. And when you leave, please be sure to leave us a review. It helps us know what we’re doing well and helps other travelers know what they can expect. Thank You!
Thanks again. We hope you enjoy the cottage as much as we do!
